Let me introduce you to Chloe Keating.

A few things on Chloe... I have known this lovely thing since before she was born... that's right, she's my sister! I have had the privilege of watching her grow up and become the woman she is today. I've watched her walk through some of the struggles she mentions below and I'm proud to say she is stronger and closer to God because of them. Side note- She has an angelic voice... the only one in our family that has a singing voice worthy of being heard by public ears and I selfishly love hearing her sing. Lol. She has the kind of spirit that makes anyone comfortable and desires for there to be peace in all situations. She definitely has a fun side but fun for her may literally mean Netflix and veg out. If you know Chloe, then you also know how great of a friend she is. I'm excited for more of you to get to know her.
Q: How long have you been at Skybreak Church?
A: I’ve been coming to Skybreak Church on and off for several years. I wasn’t until about 4 months ago God called me here full time. I love my church.
Q: In what capacity do you currently serve?
A: I’m on staff as the office manager and event assistant. I also serve on the worship team!
Q: What excites you the most about being an ambassador?
A: Being a safe place for women and to represent something so much bigger than me.
Q: Tell me something that most people don't know about you?
A: I’m actually very introverted. I love people and I love being social but my alone time is the most important thing to me sometimes.
Q: Share your story
I grew up hearing about God but didn’t truly meet him until my Sophomore year of high school. After a string of emotionally abusive relationships, partying and being wild, I encountered God and he began to unlock my heart and all the dreams I had tucked away for so long. He started opening my eyes to my true identity and teaching me what love really looked like. He called me to something much higher and reminded me who I am. I graduated high school, went to Bethel School Of Supernatural Ministry in Northern California and now I work in full time ministry at Skybreak Church. God is faithful and his promises are ALWAYS true.
Thanks for sharing Chloe! Who can relate to this story? Not really knowing God until life put us in a situation where we really needed to know him. Struggle, whether self inflicted or maybe life just happened to us, has a way of increasing our dependency on God and helping us see a side of Jesus' character that we may have never seen before. It's hard to understand the grace of God until we've messed up. It's hard to understand Jesus' healing power until we get a cancer report. It's hard to understand His love until we've been abandoned by those closest to us. He is always near to us even if we don't see him there.
Sometimes, in order to really see God, we need to get outside our own perspectives and see the world through the lens of other people. Find some people to talk to this week that don't think like you or look like you. Share your story with them and then promise to not be surprised when you learn that they may have a similar story. In fact, their perspective on how they faced that situation could help you overcome yours, or vise versa.
XOXO, Kendra
P.S. I was traveling last week and didn't get to post so this week you will get 2 blogs! Yay! Stay tuned...
